Almost like a pirate,.. is!!! on your next 4 lines, I was happy to know even in a poem, light can lead the way down any path. than, the eerie feeling began to remind me of my first trick or treating day. Everything spooked me. Almost like the description above. Your ending also reminded me of my mom waiting up or our return. a nice rhyme, hope the candy made it home safely, and kitty helps you pick them up. pd
