About This Poem
Loving You
What would I do
if not for you?
I'll share what most likely would be true.
I'd be sitting all alone
in my very empty home
feeling depressed and blue,
but then suddenly upon my lap
leaps my adorable little cat
demanding attention and affection,
and as I softly stroke your back
with you lovingly gazing back
my thoughts go in a completely different direction.
Slowly but surely I come out of my depression,
because loving you has no room for unpleasant distractions.
