Transfixed

Afire
smoke and flames rise
bodies tumble like birds,
not wounded, but death approaching
missiles doomed to decorate a dark earth.
Suits and ties and dresses become
flags announcing ruin,
conflagration,
afire.

Transfixed,
human eyes suck
the suffering they see.
Screams of jet engines horrify.
Human screams denounce, refusing to see
that which has ripped peace asunder.
Annihilator spews
horror - to all,
transfixed.

Dark but full of meaning and soul. Keep writting. I tend to write light poetry to counter the dark. Read my 'Ninja Trolls'.
