About This Poem

Light of the Pumpkin

The life of a carved pumpkin reigns In the night it glows very supreme Edging the ends of the light inside Glowing face to gleam on those near A great Halloween piece that lives Deep within my heart to shine all night

Again Russell---how you bring me back--I recall one Halloween in particular that myself and another friend would go and take pumpkins off a step (7th grade) and instead of smashing them we took them into the woods cleaned and carved them, put a candle in and lit it back on their steps!! Hope that still lives in their hearts as this poem does in mine!

I dub thee "King of the pumpkins" Sir Russell!!! You have read the tale of Ichabod Crane, no doubt!
