About This Poem
My Quiet Place of Solitude
In shadows of the lodgepole pines,
my thoughts form heart-shaped poems
Without a quill to write them down,
blue birds will fly them home
_______________
Many years ago, my husband and I,
(along with my brother's family)
joined forces and built a comfy little mountain cabin,
in the Plumas National Forest of California, 5,000 elevation.
It is near a gorgeous lake called "Little Grass Valley Lake"
Beautiful, quiet, and serene...filled with tall timber, sivertip pines.
We spend wonderful family times...most of our summers
are spent with no tv, internet, no cell phones, our favorite place to be....
Long walks, hiking trails, sitting on the lakeshore
provides wonderful inspiration for poetry.
