The Dance of Time

The whirling hands of the clock
won't stop for you and me
All we can do is watch and hope
Before the tidal wave
   of the years
washes our sand castles away
  The dance of time
is
something
   which we have no control
over
We are all trapped within it
like marionettes we move
and play various games
  As the years rush by
  and our mortal bodies
disintegrate
We reach for the brass ring
but it eludes us
    and knowing that night will
soon be upon us
We light our candles
and pray

Love that line about thee sandcastles being washed away. Seems father time rules us and we have nothing to say about it. Great verse!

Time of our youth moved rather slow but as we age the pace quicken to an all out rush on a downhill slide toward the end. I nvite you to see "Times advances" in my folder. Nicely done, good write.
