In a Hammock Sky

In a hammock sky, sun seared my skin, melting it away. But in a twinkling, night fell, claimed my soul, and birthed a star. Written by Andrea Dietrich 8/31/12 for nette onclaud's HAMMOCK OF SKY IN TANAGA poetry contest

Old Buttermilk Sky. I remember that old song. Forgot who sang it - country western I think. Now, hammock sky I don't recall what that would be. Whatever. You have rocked me with your hammock, Andrea. Love, daver

Sorry to hear about your insomnia. I hope you and your family are alright. Your in my prayers...I, too, have trouble sleeping at night when I worry, but I worry too much about too little. Mostly things that are out of my control. I've been this way since I was a child, sensitive to all going on around me. Prayer helps and reading poetry, of course...:))

Oh, this is a so good! A winner for sure...don't know how, but I missed your comment on my Night Spell poem until now. Thanks for the encouraging comments. Sometimes, I wonder what I'm doing here amongst all the talented writers. I was feeling like that today and your comment cheered me up. I didn't write it for a contest. Then, when I was finished, I thought it would be suitable for the Visceral contest so I entered it. Again, thanks for always being kind. It means a lot. Hugs, Rhonda
