Unrequited Love
love’s unfolding dream rescinded
lifelong hopes uneasily forgotten,
broken heartstrings quiet rebirth
concealing fresh helpless sorrow,
streaming contrite cries alighted
lilliputian melancholic memories,
adrift unknown psychic pathways
inhabiting timeless dutiful visions,
over unrequited affection’s deep
ancestral emotive yawning abyss,
through bowdlerized minefields
beyond love’s never-ending reign,
beneath deafened consciousness’
apathetic myopic peace of mind,
till hindsight’s enduring sufferings
never-say-die tempestuous regrets,
transparent sleepless soulful eyes
ever-present enigmatic wandering
thought’s mute uncaring curiosity
enlivens heartsick remembrances
