About This Poem
My Quiet Place To Pray
The church is quiet, dim and serene
Alone with the Lord I pray silently
Flickering candles cast shadows drifting
A tear falls down my face unchecked
I bow my head in my deep sorrow
O, Lord help me find the strength to live
Carry me from this pit of dark doom
I so want to shine again
The angel of death came for me
He called my name and I was not ready
The church quiet, dim and serene
I pray so silently
My tears fall while shadows flicker
Thoughts, mind in agony
O, Lord show me the way to you
Show me life heavenly
Guardian angel beside me
Lord, I am now ready
