A Pallet

I was a pallet from somewhere, I arrived in Telford one day
I spent my time in a warehouse, till somebody whisked me away

They took me home in a motor car, hid me in a shed
Eventually they took me out, to a jigsaw I was led

I was cut into little pieces, painted a glorious brown
Then before I knew were I was, I headed to another town

The town was by the seaside, I'm sure they call it Rhyl
The seagulls they fly around me, making a noise so shrill

As for me I am perfectly happy, as on a veranda I lay
Holding hot tea and coffee, as people holiday

From dreary little pallet, to handy table top
My owner uses me daily and happily here I'll stop

I hope you never forget that it is the child inside you Owen, that's my answer to your comment on my poem. Never Allow yourself to be the "adult" and forget the child's pleasures. - You have written a very good poem here, I like it. - Have a lovely weekend .... take a look at the clouds - oxox / / Anne-Lise :)
