THE SILENCE BEFORE THE VIEWING

As the sun set behind stained glass and snow fell, I draped black watch plaid,

an odd pall, on his bland casket and touched shifting light, a frail nomad.

I wept with no sound for my lively father was in silence clad.

You sure captured this moment well, Cyndi-- I see that you won with this, so congrats to you! I'm sorry to hear that you haven't been well-- do get your rest, ok? I do drop by here and there, but yes, not as much as before, been occupied with some other things lately-- I haven't written as much lately anyhow but yes, today is special, so I came up with something for Andrea...also want to remind you it's her birthday today, Sept 5 :). Have a great week, and do hug Verity for me as well!

What can be said about your descriptives on this heart rending scene -- bland casket, touched shifting light, a frail nomad. If I go on, I'll be reprinting every word. You are a true poet, richly blessed with language and sensitivity. love, Kathy

Yes, I wept, no I bawled, when my father died...this man of stature and words was silenced as he slept, silently. I do know the feeling. Compelling write. Congrats. One love. Joy Wells.
