About This Poem

Life and Death

Her
eyes blinked
then fluttered
She was awake
We rushed over crying tears of relief

Another family passed by our room
Huddled as one
we noticed
they cried
too

The contrast makes it stand out as a moment capturing the intrigue of human emotions. The survivor almost always feels guilty at his "luck". Great poem, Tim. Congrats on your win.

A study in contrast, at such times we are not sure what to feel sorrow for others or joy for ourselves. Insightful write. Thank you for your congratulations. My son too is now nearing 2, and is sweetly very naughty!!
