Morning is the sun rising in a boy's sparkling smile,
urging me to chuck my chores. "Please Mommy play awhile."
We welcome the dawn's shiny day with some sticky breakfast delights.
Laughter rouses with tickles and hugs as singing birds greet the light.
A hot cup of tea for me, milk and orange juice sips for him,
sweet goodbye kisses for Daddy with love filled to the brim.
Fun games galore, make-believe adventures and maybe an early day walk,
a collage of morning memories sprinkled with silly little boy talk.
Energetic feet skip home joyfully then echo down waiting hall.
Summer morns will soon turn to hushed Autumn hours as busy school days call.
