About This Poem
To Fight Aloud is Very Brave
Thunderous gray smoke of war
No greater courage I've found
Those who war within their heart
An army fills the ground
When defeat has little honor
Those who died are never known
with dying eyes no one regards
a patriotic tone
We drown in plumed marches
and here the angels we seek
Line after line of walking dead
with uniforms of defeat
Emily Dickinson
