Christmas in July Alone

A summer abroad
Homesick for my family
Silent nights abound
Building a snowman from sand
My loneliness melts away...

Hi Susan, I did reply to your comment but just in case you don't go back to it, nothing is written in stone what I meant was because I am not good with text speak, I might do 5 humour, 5 not too serious, 5 for using pure text alone, and maybe 5 other, am still looking for a partner to help with the judging though....

I LOVE how you made a Tanka for this contest! This is a fabulous form, my favorite, and I can tell, as you have done so eloquently, it is perfect for this contest! What you have written fits wonderfully for the contest and nobody has written anything like this one as their poem! What an outstanding piece my friend! Great Work!!
