HEAT OF LIFE

Seething heat of anger Infuriating the mind burning every crevice of body Momentary explosion Leaves a lasting damage An ounce of patience melts anger away Smoldering heat of jealousy Raging a silent battle within Scarring the purity of sane thoughts Etching deep dark prejudices In slumberous conscience Celebrating own self brushes jealousy away Searing heat of hatred Scalding the very core Pulsating with each heartbeat Arousing in, essence of vengeance Into the soothing fabric of humanity A little love extinguishes hatred's embers Scorching heat of life's trauma Destitution, discrimination, depression Destroying the purpose of our journey here God sent us as blooming buds, to spread fragrance Make peace in war, make friendship in animosity Some humane sensitivity to calm this pleasant life. 31/7/2012

Yes, many bad things in human nature can be equated with "heat." I like how you focused on the bad, though there are also good things equated with heat. A very reflective poem, yesha. I am guessing it's for Deb's contest? Great entry.
