Reliance

Lord why is it that,
When I am behind foreign lines
I cling to you as if Im running out of time
Meditating on your words
as is if it was the only antidote to my curse
And even though the unknown land is uneasy
and my earthly sense of security may no longer exist
It is your voice which becomes the softest kiss
and your releaving words become an addiction I can not resist
So when waves of anxious worries try to persist
I must use my 5 senses, to feel your presence,
Because,
The fear of losing sight of you and not being focused
Is so horrific
I do not grit my teeth and clinch my fist
Instead I get on my knees and to you I submit

I see kids dying to be seen
Saying daddy "watch me!", Constantly
There are,
 People making a declaration
with their clothes or beliefs
Screaming out of desperation
"I am here, look at me!"
We all crave this attention
It why we make big scenes
But there is this realization
That we were made to seek
A constant confirmation
We're alive and been seen
The only complication
That allows us to sink
Is the clear distraction
when we start to think
That our peers accept-ion
Is all that we we need
Cant you see,
This goes back to Adam and Eve
We were built with a longing
 To Have a strong Identity
And be in the center of the ring
Having the splendor of the king
Christ offers us those things
And he is more than willing
But we keep declining, though
He waits for us, in his quiet place
He shows his many faces in so many different places
He paces out outside of our door way
As we race through our days
thats why we forget to communicate
But When We simply pray
And contimplate his words
We take the negative
and turn it into a positive verse
A plain reminder we need to put him first
