About This Poem
My Prayer, To Hell and Back
Dear Lord, please forgive me for what I am about to do
You gave me the gift of life, and I am returning it
Back into your safe hands. I feel I have not done it any justice.
I have wasted it on this miserable earth, this living hell!
The burning inside my head must equal that of Lucifer’s home,
The unhappiness here can only turn to joy at the gates of hell.
I stand on this bridge, my life behind me, my destiny in front,
Below are the valleys of death, they are calling my name aloud
The urge to jump is overwhelming~~~ but wait! I can feel the air
Rushing through my hair, I am at one with birds and nature, standing
Amongst giants. I can feel you within me, stopping me, guiding me!
The power of your love is truly magnificent.
Visions of friends and family, a past I cling to with all the strength
The good Lord gave me. A life I so enjoy. A life I intend to keep.
I will try to show you I am worthy of your choice
Dear Lord, please forgive me for what I am about to do. I am staying.
