Willow's Bend

A willow's branch sways in the wind,
and waves goodbye to her old friend.
As if to lift in some odd way,
my spirits on this final day,
when I must leave her in the bay,
and take my children from their play.
For in the they say,
you can visit...never stay
So thank you willow, you did lend,
your time to us, on Willow's Bend.

Hey Caleb, the title of this piece is incredibly evocative for me, and the content is wistful and written very, very well! I also want to say thanks for your comment on my poem about the fish and the kids and the water. I am so happy you found that connection; I can't think of many other times that were as special to me as going fishing off the docks with my dad.
