Thanks for the sweet compliment on my haiku [I do not consider myself a master hon..I feel I may be a few paces out of the category of supermarket haiku in Japan BUT I have gotten better LOL]..your verse above has lines 1 & 2 pretty correct for a traditional haiku, it is that line 3 that's VERY difficult to grasp what to do with it has taken me years,

what you did above is called cause and effect..you said the honeysuckle was sweet so it is no surprise it tastes like sugar aye? The fragmented line WITH the juxtaposed INPUT [visual, auditory, tactile etc] needs to ADD to the image be related to it, connect to it conceptually BUT add ..AAAAAAHA!!

AHA and there it is. Congratulations. That was funny what your dad said. I used Gag as my first rhyming word in the maggot poem. I forgot to put my name on my lips poem so I didn't get placed. I felt so disappointed. I hate when I don't even see the rules!!
