PARLIAMENT 2
PARLIAMENT 2
Trade Unionists sip cold champagne
In gold cufflinks at Thai restaurants
Eating red curried prawns
While workers gape at former leaders sold
On I-phones activists, now legislators
Talk about draft laws forever
While naked women starve
In hospital corridors
They swim in bright pools
With pinky lovers jeweled
While bodyguards stare at power telling
Strikers they are mad
So they rush from airport to airport
Holiday in the Amazon
On plains of poverty children scream to die
Reach out bony arms in tattered sleeves
Smiling fat wet smiles in
Linen jackets with maroony ties
Jargoned addresses at world congresses
New mansions highly securitied
Trickling ideals through sandy soil
Deep into Mother Earth it blossoms anew
Smother slick smiles while rationalizations
Curl around dimpled necks
They say they sleep less now
Study in hotel rooms in Big Apple
Some still sing songs of freedom
On leather couches naked
Truth exposes gloss
Scrape away splinters
As it coffined a
Previous age.
