A Lover's Quarrel

You know I had a lover's quarrel with God
As I sat there telling him ~
I knew the fastest way to heaven
Was straight through hell
Though He did not see it that way
Nope, not at all
God said you need to go down this one path
But as I sat out there on that enormous cypress tree
I thought and I listened and I thought some more
What I was feeling now and what I should be feeling
Where very two different things.
But as I said before ~
I had a lover's quarrel with God
But never once did he let go
Of that unconditional love for me
No ~ never once and for that I will always love God

Love your dramatic verse, Debbie! Parts of your dialogue, fragments of your thoughts, and from the sum we feel your enrichment. It's amazing that God's love is always "unconditional".:) An inspiring verse, thank you for sharing. Hugs, Mikki

the one constant in the universe, the one who cares and doesn't rest, to be loved by him, is to be blest, his creatures since creation, sometimes we are a pest, with patience he is waiting, our return to the nest... re: Debbie Duncan 'A lovers Quarrel' Don

We curse him and subverse him and we think that we will die. And then just when we think that we have finally lost our soul. He reaches out with open arms to help us bear the toll.

WOW! How did I miss this, I think it isn't a quarrel at all, just a lover's tiff sweet Debbie, your heart is on your sleeve for your God, I checked with poetry and they said, when God received this love note from you he rejoiced, sending you peaceful thoughts and a big hug, Vie.
