About This Poem

Radio Days

Hey DADDY run as-fast-as-you can
You oughta' see my mama, oh man
She's dancing to a radio show
And being kinda' naughty-you-know

Never seen her acting this way before
Look she shuffling out-all-over-the-floor
It's a song that I ain't never heard
She just-said-one-of-them-dirty words

Take me home to my radio days
Take me back to the simple old ways
Far away from the smoke and the haze
Take me home to my radio days

She shoutin' "SING to-me-Rock & Roll-man
I could eat you right up where-you-stand!"
But she just-now-got-thru-eatin'-her lunch
Why she still wanting something-to-munch?

See I TOLD you, hey what-is-this-pop?
Why you spinning her around like a top?
You just-made-mama's-garter-belt show
And why the heck did your zipper-just-grow?

Take me home to my radio days
Take me back to the simple old ways
Far away from the smoke and the haze
Take me home to my radio days

         One-more-time-now-1,2,3...

What a rollickin' good poem!! I well remember MY radio days, listening to American baseball games on the Armed Services Network, and music, too!! Best wishes, Keith (PS Thanks for your encouraging remarks...)
