Resplendant With Light

Resplendant With Light “4 You are glorious and more majestic than the everlasting mountains.5 Our boldest enemies have been plundered. They lie before us in the sleep of death. No warrior could lift a hand against us. 6 At the blast of your breath, O God of Jacob, their horses and chariots lay still. 7 No wonder you are greatly feared! Who can stand before you when your anger explodes? 8 From heaven you sentenced your enemies; the earth trembled and stood silent before you. 9 You stand up to judge those who do evil, O God, and to rescue the oppressed of the earth.” Psa 76:4-9 NLT You are Resplendant With Light; More majestic than mountains filled with game. Valiant men lie plundered everywhere; They sleep the last sleep judgment claims. Both horse and chariot lie totally still; All weapons of war at their side. From heaven you pronounced judgment— Fire and hail both deep and wide. You break the spirit of earth’s rulers, Who trusted in their own ways; Failed to heed your warnings; Puffed up with pride always. Struck down in a moment— Two hundred million or so. The greatest army ever seen; Gone like a puff of wind that did blow. In your hand is a cup of foaming wine; Mixed with spices set to kill; Drunk down quickly by the wicked Who lie so motionless and deathly still. You are the one who makes the earth quake And holds its pillars firm. The arrogant to boast no more; Rather now food for the wriggling worm. You are Resplendant With Light; Your majesty reigns on high. What is mere man in comparison? A blade of grass withers in the sun to die. Your enemies are gone in a moment; No power against your Resplendant Light. War against man’s Maker, Shows total ignorance and pride’s blindsight. © Copyright 2012 Maureen LeFanue www.maureenlefanue.com
