SHORELINE
I look to the horizon where sun meets sea,
As happy as a lark, I smile in glee.
This is what I live for -to come to the coast,
It’s simply what I love the most.
To watch the waves crash upon the golden shore,
And oh, how those waves make an almighty roar.
Let that sound fill my heart, my body, my soul-me as a whole.
It’s beautiful, is it not, the ocean, the deep?
Just watching makes me want to leap.
Now the blue, it’s as calm as ever,
But I know too well that won’t last forever.
As night falls, the sea-it’s wild,
It leaves a trail of destruction-anything in its wake,
A mess so large none else would make.
As the sun rises and a new day arises,
I look outside and it’s oh so calm,
Is it not full so of surprises?
I walk outside and let the sand tickle my toes,
I inhale the salt air whilst the wind whips my hair,
Silently I watch nature’s miracle,
Defeating any obstacle
So that once again the waves may wash upon the streaked shoreline.
