False Start
Thou cleave mine heart with genteel grace,
Whilst hiding chagrin upon thine face.
Teasing me with words so sweet,
Encouraging mine heart to once again beat.
Battered from love's exhausting games,
Endless list of forgotten names.
Thou finding humor to lighten mine heart,
Heavy with abandon promise’s false start.
Infusing mine heart once again,
So only thine love would remain.
