truth

TRUTH
A lie is but the underside of truth
To spin a web of deceit is but
Stretching the facts for greater appeal
To admit you lied is never done
To be caught out is to have
Done a sloppy job
Lies will be facts if they link in a reasonable sequence
A speck or two of the known can easily enfold and camouflage
People it seems will believe as they are told
What has happened to this fable that is truth?
Fiction that was never meant to be real
Have now attained legitimacy
Usage it seems can and does transform
To embellish and smooth the rough edges
Is but to make it more palatable
Consumption is known to be acceptance
Digestion may later unearth the inconsistencies
Woe betide those found to have lied knowingly
To be fooled is to the victim
A grievous abuse
An acceptance of the spiel
To them represented intimate
Now violated trust
Truth can vary
Depending on the ear that does receive
Receptiveness is the key to the
Cons that truth may have in store
A dangerous thing is a lie
That never attains
The status of non-contentious truth
Accept what you will
Believe what you must

but what of this... if I am told that a man has a heart attack, (which is major to me) and I tell you that a man has had a major heart attack, have I lied or just cast my views upon it? Enjoyed your poem. hugs, catie :)
