What You Should Do

Late at night
    music on the radio
the lights out
Your fate is in your hands
What you should do
      with your remaining time
  is something you must decide
      Late at night
            music on the radio
the candle of life
    burning slowly
You must decide what you
      should do
The demons within
     and without
   Make your decision
a difficult one
Let
the
light
of
the
moon
       illuminate your path
Let starlight aid you
         on your journey
Let yourself travel
          on paths of peace
towards the ultimate goal
     which lies at the end
of a very long road

A thought provoking write, Matthew. Much to see on this path towards "which lies at the end". "a very long road", we might stubble but should dust ourselves off and move ahead. Nicely penned!! Mikki

With time running out there is limited opportunity to get it together. Nice ending that gives hope.

You sure draw many pictures of the heavens in this contemplative write. Quite possibly, u have the answer and need to just GO FOR IT! The answer is usually found when we talk to the One who made these stars. Love to ya, Gwendolen

Matthew, You'll have to forgive me for not visiting your poems for the longest time...Sometimes just pop over and say, "Hey, check out my latest!" bc I had been so busy with school for the past 2 yrs and got out of touch with some of my fav'd poets. Gwendolen

what should yoyu do with your remaining time. i think at this point that questioned has been answered already. the question now is should i go deeper. risk it all though my heart is at stake. it's a high stakes risk we're taking when we give our all.
