About This Poem
Fragile Eggs
Earth is fertile, eggs hatch, tender babes cry;
Spring of rebirth from soil to sky. Lonely
mothers reminded of tearful goodbyes.
Baby birds fly from empty nests to see,
body, soul, and spirit, life's trinity.
Through passage from life to death, we each share
breath of time, a fragile life, born of eggs.
Beginnings - youth nurtured by mother, fair
and father sky. Rising, our shells are dregs.
Held in prayer, the Father hears mothers' begs.
