Tell Me- Me Dire

.

Tell me, comment dit-on love en français?
if my Please stays and your Au revoir leaves
if your airplane departs and fades away
Tell me, comment dit-on love en français?
at this cul-de-sac, in this empty day
when dusk and I become swirls of dry leaves
Tell me, comment dit-on love en français?
if my Please stays and your Au revoir leaves

How can i say love when it's all over?
Please, tell me: How do you forget in French?
The sun shines in a sky clouded over
How can i say love when it's all over?
When you suddenly just throw me over
There is somebody crying on this bench
How can i say love when it's all over?
Please, tell me: How do you forget in French?

A melancholy write, Ruben. Merde, oublie means forget, but this has the universal language of despondent pleas. A heart wrenching Triolet, Ruben. Congratulations on your well deserved win! Mikki

Ruben, you did smashing with the triolet form! I was checking to see if you had a new diminished hexaverse, but stumbled across this forlorn gem. How do you forget in French? A big congratulations on your high placement in Cyndi's contest! Hey, I saw your comment on my recent D.M. - you're too kind. I just read some excellent entries for David's contest.

Yes, I loved it! Congrats, chum, on the well deserved win. There is much to like. Snuck in a second dish, did you? All is fine. But it stood alone fine. :-) Cyndi

Hey, BIG congrats in this contest, Ruben. And no,I'm not changing the footnote. I like remembering sometimes where the poem originated from . I think with contests asking for our old stuff,it's ok to do that way. Just going off. So happy to see your win in the French contest.
