About This Poem

Response of A Harried Housewife To Her Spouse

“The children are always interrupting. You never have time for me,” her husband whined as he dropped his dirty clothes right there on the floor by the bed. Trying not to roll her eyes, she gave this quick response to her disgruntled spouse: “The kids, chores and mishaps have me spinning, and you tell me you feel rejected. To have a blissful home takes two. Consideration is key. I’m also missing you! To be successful in our bed, take time OUT of it. . . for ME!” A Double Etheree written May 27, 2012 for David Williams' The Three H's Poetry Contest

Yikes ! LOL....The art of love making lies out side of the bed room dear poet ! Before entering the bed room...put out the trash..and the children, and bring in...the Champagne and strawberries ! *smiles* Great Great write Andrea ! Have a beautiful night my friend....much love, james

Nothing like the smell of dirty socks and shorts by the side of the bed to absolutely smother romance - the kids screaming in the background, the aroma of the night's dinner having metamorphosed into something obnoxious. By God! He's sleeping on the couch for sure. A sure fire winner. LOve, daver

... Tis the ultimate necessity in the bed of everlastings love, my dear gifted and beautiful Andrea * Laying aside oneself to die unto its solitude; as rising anew, to gently caress evermore, the heart's in whom one love's ... Love, tristen :)

The "stars in the eyes" thing doesn't last too long after the ring gets on the hand. Reality soon rears its ugly head and too often romance flies out the window. That's what I found in this Andrea and I love how you get it all down with just the right descriptions. All the best in the contest my dear; Luv, Lizzie
