About This Poem

So Firm A Foundation

Some days we are barely hanging on
Clinging to the Rock with all our might
Life’s crashing waves come upon us
Temporarily robbing us of our sight

But He who walked upon the water
Whose Name the seas instantly obey
Scoops us up, and carries us forward
Brings us through the trials of today

Jesus loves us and will never leave us
This Truth trumps any errant thought
Let us ever be mindful of His Sacrifice
By which His shed blood we are bought

The debt of sin was paid, and we are free
Nothing can ever snatch us from His Hand
We have new life in Him, to live abundantly
So Firm A Foundation; all else is but sand
