Why do Cats
Demand a fuss when they’re wet
have three names
Sit on your lap when you are just about to leave
a nickname
Sleep in front of a fire and make you feel warmer
a formal name
Have no Soul and so denied an entry to heaven
a secret name
But still wind around St.Peter’s ankles at the gates
purr so loudly on quiet Sunday mornings
