About This Poem

she shall come

she would have been
here with her sons
by her side -
but the way of the world
she had gone
nobly gone
to the other side of the hill
look at that ignoble mound
they erected
for her
our poor mother
richer than the richest man
in the world today -
i wish i had been like her
an angel in manners
she left a star
on the azure of our souls
"she would come
sooner or later" they say
let mother come
to give brightness
to my collapsing house -
mother, come
the house awaits your return
