Heaven's Doorway

 Heaven's doorway
By any other name
Is Jesus Christ, my Lord

Straight is the way
Narrow is His gate
And definitely, there are no back doors

Angels can't lift you up
When overloaded
Millstones hardened sin

But, just give up
Your will, as His life he did
And when aligned you will be, invited in

Very well crafted and articulated! 'doorway...gate...millstones,' splendid images. Your final verse wraps this piece up beautifully. Well done, my friend!! Best wishes, Keith

Praise God for this testimony in poem. So very, very true. Many are the lost that need to be found.

This is very good. I like this kind of free verse. You asked me about the June sonnet. I was lying out in my back yard and observing all the things around me and then I carefully composed the sonnet around those things. It was the process I wanted to talk to you about. How I take things from life or imagined things and then take sometimes hours to mold them into sonnets or other forms. It's just my "way" but I appreciate that you probably are more spontaneous than that with your free verse.
