Spring is here

When storm clouds rage with thunder claps
and lighting strikes the earth,
its just the way that nature tells
of springtimes new rebirth.
For rainbows come soon afterward,
a prism in the sky
to let us know that she is pleased
that winters said goodby.
A warming breeze that whispers through
a newly budding tree,
seems to sing of warmer days
with dancing, whirling glee.
While in a meadow green with grass
a mare will gently greet
her wobbly legged, and tiny foal
when two soft muzzles meet.
Wild flowers pop up everywhere
where once the earth was brown
and raise their faces to the sun,
that shines so softly down.
A robin thats heard singing
in pure and simple notes
is answered soon, a medley
from many other throats.
Signs that tell us Spring has come,
and it's hear to stay.
The sky a deep and lovely blue,
where once was only gray.
