Old Age Driving

Did I park the car or not?
Have I remembered or forgot?
I think I will go and see.
If only I could find the key.

I don’t know why they hoot
When I travel the freeway.
I drive so very carefully
In the fast lane all day.

They greet me all with flashing lights
And wave their arms about.
And as they pass me on the left
They shake their fist and shout.

That light is red, or is it green?
That chap is shouting things obscene.
I don’t know whether to stop or go
When my tyre’s resting on his toe.

And so it is we all get old
Though we thought it would never be.
And if today you are young and bold
Tomorrow you’ll be frail, and drive like me.

I love it! It shows a view that young people don't see or understand :) Enjoyed. -Hannah
