Riding Waterfalls

Fallen buds from broken rose
     ride soft on river’s flow,
Moving far from season’s shore
     with memories in tow.

Open roads and waterfalls
     carry the springtime’s tunes,
Snowflakes melt in early lights
      of warming yellow moons.

Yesterdays move further out
     from shifting sands of times,
Leaving shadows of the dreams
     that linger far behind.

Mary wrote the letters long
     of all that’s ever been,
Buried them in broken grounds
walked on by next of kin.

Butterflies moved from cocoons
     then dried angelic wings,
One rose drinks from waterfalls
     as the last springtime sings.
