My Ego Trip

Anything good comes to an end..so I have heard
..its the perfect reason to pick up every good thing
which crosses our path

Some might argue and take the easiest way out
Those will fade away fast, without mercy or glory
..pick up the golden baton, leading you to brighter times

For the faded lives in shadows or darkness, where the sun doesn`t give life
..nor does it expect to find anyone there..
Take your best shot and let it lead you into brighter days..

Stimulating verse! Poetry Soup is something of an ego trip - wouldn't you say? One which is well worth while - don't you agree? Matthew Anish

Yes, good things do end too soon, Arild. Greed -- grabbing that "golden baton" only gives us the things money can buy. Love, hope, friendship and comfort can only be earned. Your poem is so inspiring! Take my hand, Arild, and maybe we can find our way into the light. Also wanted to thank you for a kind word you left on someone else's blog, defending a statement I'd made about a rude Souper. I don't forget things like this! Love, Carolyn

It's true, all good things come to an end eventually and something else take its place but I seem to wade through each time. Love the thought in this Arild, it takes some strength to meet the challenge doesn't it? Luv, Lizzie

Hi! Arlid, you are a very special friend. and your words are more delightful today than any other day. I like to think of you as one of them good things (person) that crossed my path. I knew and felt it since the day we meet here on the soup. I'm glad your ego, does not allow you to take the easy way out. Amen! to that! My ego never allows me to fade away as much as i want too. I'm gonna take that rod, and walk around my troubled times. and lead all around me into them better days. xox~ PD

I am with you Arild, we need light to chase the shadows and illuminate the darkness within. Wonderful perceptions of what makes life worthwhile. Luv, Lizzie
