About This Poem

caravan

'twas nightfall when the caravan
rolled on through
- the dust not seen
- by morning
tracks had been made
the tramps and the gypsies remained
the thieves hidden
fortunes I had but could not predict
I sought
secrets
the thieves would take them
the tramps would take them
the gypsies would take them
