About This Poem
ALL I WANTED WAS TO LOVE THEM
All I wanted was to love them
But they didn’t understand
They were so suspicious
There must be something underhand!
They didn’t know that love was waiting
For them to allow it in
They didn’t know that was all it was
There was nothing hidden within
So they built up walls against the love
The love they thought didn’t exist
In the end completely rejected it
Not knowing what they had missed
I pray one day they will understand
The Jesus stood at their door
He was the one who was knocking
The one they were waiting for!
So many are so suspicious
When all you want to do is love
They don’t know you are guided
By their Father up above!
All I wanted was to love them
But they didn’t understand!
