About This Poem
Once a Pawn in Time
A lady danced into the arms of a lover’s story book
embraced in haste, then tossed aside, without a second look.
Hope dashed hard on cruel stone, sorrow cast apart
as shattered expectations birthed another broken heart.
Idle wish for what once was, grievous did ensure
damnation never ceasing, a love scar to endure.
Injustice brooded, thorny crown; would his jilted heart yet live?
Yes, if nurtured in surrendered pride - his decision to forgive.
