TERRY FOX: 26 MILES A DAY

 UNSUPPORTED CODE

Cancer’s twisting road is furrowed and steep,
26 miles a day, steps brave and sure,
Brave Terry Fox had a mission to keep,
Beat his foe, run for life and find a cure.

26 miles a day, steps brave and sure,
He’d lost a leg, but not his daring dream,
Beat his foe, run for life and find a cure,
Cross Canada on foot, a route extreme!

He’d lost a leg, but not his daring dream,
Marathon of hope, a race where all win,
Cross Canada on foot, a route extreme,
Where most would resign, there he would begin.

Marathon of hope, a race where all win,
Nothing but despair can get in our way,
Where most would resign, Terry would begin.
Let’s keep up with his pace, starting today.

Nothing but despair can get in our way,
Brave Terry Fox ~ his mission we must keep,
Let’s keep up with his pace, starting today...
Cancer’s twisting road is furrowed and steep!

Inspired by Paula’s contest which I missed—but I really enjoyed writing this as a tribute to one of the most heroic Canadians in history, Terry Fox. I dedicate this to my father, who passed away after a very valiant fight with colon cancer. This one’s for you, Dad!
