Propaganda

(27/02/2012)

Do you know how to make wrong things right?
Just sprinkle a bit of propaganda on it
And let’s wait for it to be absorbed
The taste will affect how you burp

Propaganda can drag you to your zero
And guide onto what they want you think it is
Want some proofs?
Some might think Hitler was a hero
Need more examples?
On the other case, how about Osama’s fame?
How many people had shared his demonic brain pattern?
Or to flip it up,
Did you think he was dangerous if media hadn't chased his tail?
They say Saddam Hussein was an evil
Do you have any idea he was a hero for his people?
What about Mao Zedong? Or even Lenin and Stalin?
They were sure three persons shared one hell’s praline

Those people were mean, but try to count their lovers
How massive it was how they manipulated their bloopers
From speed up hoax to media coverage
Propaganda leans on people with money and power
So, peek in to both sides of propaganda leverage
Before you become victim of news platter

*Propaganda is a form of communication that is aimed at influencing the attitude of a community toward some cause or position. They can be manifested in the form of posters, nonobjective news coverage, etc. Usually propaganda used in politics to affect people of the country that what they do is the right things and for their sake.

It is very interesting to study propaganda (for me :D), they can be affected by idiosyncratic of a leader and also education level of the citizen. The more educated they are, the more they will be saved from propaganda. As they can analyse things from both sides.

I am very well read on Mao's propanganda machine..infiltrating the Chinese youth and causing them to tattle and bring shame and torture to those who wouldn't discard "the old" ways of China. It just disgusts me...Hitler's propag machine was equally as evil...how could folks be so naive?..or were they afraid of death...

We have a very savvy propaganda machine in office right now...influencing public opinion subtly through the arts!...I will just leave it at that. I am saving this to my favs bc I love the topic..the questions...and the education u provided the audience. Dinda, I saw your question in the comment you left on "The Lobotomizer". Yes, it touches on all the different covert and overt forms of manipulation/propaganda sent via all the different forms of media(I was leaning more towards the subliminal messages found in advertising as well). So when I read this poem, it gave me a smile that it is the one I chose to respond to. A bit of coincidence!

A very interesting poem, Dinda, you are so right, i think the world we live in today, is one endless spiel of power hungry profit making propaganda, like this poem, in fact it's brilliant., harry

An interesting take on the theme of the contest.Yes propaganda can do such things. And also every thing is relative.A man may be hero to someone but a Zero to other. Thanks for the new Avatar!
