smog-aged burnt skin-
Soul is old...torn

All by the age of six.

Only because I am immersed in Japanese history, did I first begin to think of mushroom clouds and radiation when reading this poem of yours. But I quickly changed my mind(especially because of the title). Yeah, street urchins grow up to the harsh, cruel reality of homelessness and begging, very quickly. But, if they do survive and somehow make it to a better life, they are wise to the true nature of humanity and reality. This is like a free verse haiku to me. Great stuff, nikko.
