Put Down NUKES, Put Up Yir' Dukes- - - - - - - --------

HUMAN BEINGS MAN...don't tell me it was necessary!
Couple hundred thousand people obliterated in a few seconds is beyond the realms of scary.

Truman you musta' been sniffin' glue man...you know you didn't need to do it.
I can hear ya' today giving the A-ok to the Enola Gay, "Kill 'em all...men screw it!"

And not only did you pull it once, but you saw the need to do it twice.
It wasn't like the "Little Boy" you deployed landed in a field of rice

No sir, ya' went and sent the "Fat Man" to devastate the city of Nagasaki even faster!
Just three days after the blaze reeking disaster plaster casting Hiroshima in disaster!

Now before ya' good old boys start raisin' yir' voice about December Seven!
Ramblin' off at the mouth racist claims and who is or isn't gonna be in heaven.

Half a century to think about whether or not two wrongs makes a right.
and ya' still can't see the sin in bringin' NUKES instead puttin' two dukes up in the fight?

Are you kidding me? Someone please tell me the rationale in evaporating innocent women and babies.
when the question arises of taking harmless family's lives....the answer is NO...no IFS, ANDS, or MAYBES!

Enjoyed reading this piece and I totally agree that why would you drop it on innocent people. How in all decency could you drop something so destructive when you knew the consequences. God Bless Phyl

**Cont'd** They knew it was a lose-lose situation either way, but they are an austere people built on centuries and centuries of Samurai, Shinto and Sumotori philosophy. The Japanese had intercepted several transmissions and cipher codes....they knew America had the bomb, they knew America might use it, but they played the high stakes gamble hoping that America had enough dignity not to use it and come out for a good "Beach-head" fist fight. They guessed wrong.......

I think I'm turning Japanese; I think I'm turning Japanese; I really th--ink so! Yeah, I lovey-dovey this poemey, Joey. People say, "Well, they attacked us first, so they deserved it." Nah, it didn't work like that. Colonialism and Asian territories nabbed by America, China, Britain, Russian, etc, meant Japan was going to starve anyway. So it was either die fighting, or die while sitting there doing nothing, and the ancient Japanese ideology does not allow one to throw in the towel like that.

Awesome write. I agree 100%. The damage done by nuclear warfare is immeasurable. I enjoyed reading. Blessings, Rhonda

hey, these are rhyming couplets, Joey. I LOVE this one of yours. What you need to do is to separate each rhyming group by a space. That shows they are rhyming couplets! I guess you can keep them in this paragraph form too. Rhyming couplets are the foundation of learning how to write rhyming poetry. Bet you didn't know you were on the building blocks to becoming a rhymer. haha. Luv,Andrea
