The Chestnut Tree

``

                                        The chestnut tree,

                          Birds chanting with the rustling leaves,

                                        The chestnut tree.

                               Ripples in air from cheeping glee,

                            Lilting their songs atop those eaves,

                            Winds drift around in golden weaves,

                                        The chestnut tree.

                                        The chestnut tree.

                           Pluming dapples, the curling sheaves;

                                        The chestnut tree.

                             Rumbles in lea, wing'd heaving sea;

                                A farewell call from falling leaves,

                          Twittering trills down roughen'd cleaves,

                                         The chestnut tree.

    Goooood morning, Gauti! How sweet to see you even attempted this tricky form. I fell flat on my face and revised mine twenty thousand times!! Finally I hit the DELETE BUTTON! lol. I don't know why I can't follow directions...perhaps a touch of ADHD? ha ha....Your masterful vocab and descriptions here are outstanding..This would have won first place if not for the rhyming glitches, right?...I loved my first poem and the more mistakes I found and corrected, the further I swam from my intended theme. Oh well...Gwendolen
