The Past

The smiles extend,
The shallowness nothing but pretend.
Born free,
To blossom into that grown tree.
Being that dream,
That scares away the screams.
Our change growing,
Our love showing.
I found what I need,
Something for my heart to feed.
 The memories fade,
So they can trade.
I lived off the attention,
That only brought more tension.
Whatever you had,
I sure am glad.
Sometimes goodbyes,
Aren't worth the "Why's".
The reasons,
Will catch onto you like seasons.
As I turn around,
I stand on this ground,
As strong as a bolder,
Always with that open shoulder.
