Crows

The caw of a crow as it beckons in the morning Giving me a feel as thou it maybe deaths warning It sits upon a house or the top of a tree Making me wonder is it coming for me? Then more will show to join in the delight Of filling me with fear and an uneasy fright What is it they want at my house everyday? Are they patiently waiting for me to pass away? So they can snatch my soul from heavens pure light And take me to hell to its darkly night? But my faith is strong so I shall not fear The caw of the crow,as it flys near Saying"I do not fear you"with a gleam from my eye They ruffle their feathers and then begin to fly Tomorrow is another day you black bird from hell My soul belongs to God,this to you I will forever tell

Very interesting. I love crows I raised one once, and let it go free in a park when it was old enough to survive on its own. But very interestng verse on a dark take on the creature - quite enjoyed it.

We have quite a few crows in our area, and I can easily relate to your poem. One day, after I took a walk and inadvertently trespassed on their territory, I found them on my roof's house - as if they were making a point. Maybe they were just returning the visit to be friendly. (Thanks so much for commenting on my poem!)

Shivers! I didn't know crows were so bad; I shall steer clear of them from now on. Almost got pooped on by one, that's the worst that happened to me.

if ya lived awhile in west Queensland, out in the red soil dust, where the crows will take your eyes out, and bore water is a must:( if ya saw a thin and starving cow, with not a blade of grass to eat, the summer sun, death will come, the crows are wanting meat:(

Crows sure can be scary birds and you set a very nicely eerie tone with this, Dan. One time I heard a strange noise out on my back yard. I had no idea what it could be. Opened my door and scared a MULTITUDE of crows that just flew up startled into the sky. They had been congregating all over my yard. Is that what they are called? A congregation of crows? I enjoyed your write.
