Toes

Filthy, grimy, yellowed
Strange buttons
Not
The stuff of legends
Nor epic tales

Why did we come
With these so-called toes?
Perhaps to remind us
That the meek and seemingly
Irrelevant
Parts of us

Lead silently
Fragrantly
Proudly
Worthy of our love
If not
Our recognition

Filthy toes
Never quitting
Dainty entities
Loving us
Granting peace

Please kiss them
If possible
